BISCUITS
It is so flexible – the variations are endless.
Try some of my favorites. But the basic biscuit is great!
BISCUITS
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- Mix that together in a bowl. Then cut in ¼ cup of oil or butter, melted or not.
- In a 1 cup measure, break 1 egg into it and stir with a fork.
- Add milk or cream to measure about ¾ cup.
- Add to dry mixture... almost all of it.
- If the mixture is too wet, add a bit more flour, 1 tbsp at a time, or if it is too dry, add a bit more milk.
- Bake for about 12 minutes at 400 degrees.
Instructions
If you want to roll these out to make perfect, smooth looking biscuits, just make sure your dough is not too wet. For a drop biscuit, will should have a moister dough (it will be sticky) so that you are able to drop them by the spoonful on your baking sheet.
