BROWNIES
Over the years I have tried different brownie recipes but always come back to this one. It’s straight off the Fry’s Cocoa container, except I cut the sugar in half. So instead of 2 cups of sugar I call for any 1 cup.
I do remember one time when my son, Alex, made them for a Cubs or Scouts barbeque. He used 100% whole wheat instead of white flour. They are good, heavy, but good. Sometime the slips kids make when learning to cook turn out to be favorites.

BROWNIES
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup cocoa
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Combine dry ingredients.
Melt butter. Stir in cocoa. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Blend in dry ingredients and nuts.
Pour batter into a greased 9 x 13”pan.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes. Cool.
CHOCOLATE SOUR CREAM ICING1 cup chocolate chips, melted
½ cup sour cream
Mix the 2 ingredients together and spread over cooled brownies.Powered by Recipage
