DAVE & REBECCA’S BEST PIZZA DOUGH
Keywords: bake entree
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- Add 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 pkg instant yeast (2 ¼ tsp)
- If you use regular yeast, let it sit for 10 minutes to activate the yeast before adding the rest of the ingredients.
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp sea salt
- 2 ½ cups flour
- +¼ to ½ cup additional flour (see instructions below)
Instructions
Makes 2 pizza bases.
Mix all ingredients together, except additional flour.
Continue to add somewhere between ¼ to ½ cup of flour until your dough is not sticky. Slowly add it so you don’t end up with dough that is too dry.
Knead dough for about 5 minutes.
So if you are in a hurry and just want to eat, skip letting the dough rise;
OR if you do have time, let the dough rise until doubled (approximately 1 hour);
OR refrigerate for a couple of days.
If you have refrigerated the dough, there is no need to let it rise before rolling out.
Split dough in half and roll out on a floured surface.
Load up with your favorite toppings and cheese and bake in a 400 degrees oven for approximately 20 minutes or until cooked.
Keep a close eye on it - cooking times will depend on the thickness of your base too.
Your pizza should smell delicious!! That will be a good indicator of it being cooked.
This is one of their favorite pizzas.
