JULIE’S BANANA BREAD
This recipe was given to me by a friend almost 20 years ago. It came from her friend, Julie. I have adapted it just a bit. It has a lot of banana flavor that can be lacking in other recipes. There is a lot a natural sugar so don’t be afraid to use even less brown sugar. You can add nuts or chocolate chips too. It is by far the best!
JULIE’S BANANA BREAD
Ingredients (1 loaf)
- 1 cup brown sugar (not packed)
- ½ cup butter
- 3 to 4 ripe bananas
- 2 eggs
- 2 ½ cups flour (all white or ½ whole wheat and ½ white flour)
- ¼ cup bran or wheat germ
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare loaf pan.
Beat together butter, brown sugar, bananas and eggs.
Add vanilla.
Add dry ingredients and stir only until mixed.
Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
