LEMON GARLIC CAPER SAUCE
This quick sauce is excellent on fish or chicken. We recently had it on fresh tuna while in Maui.
LEMON GARLIC CAPER SAUCE
Keywords: saute side
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1/3 cup onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp lemon zest – if you are using fresh lemons
- 2 tbsp capers
Instructions
Melt butter in your frying pan over medium heat.
Add the onion and cook until translucent.
I like to prepare the onion ahead of time – so cook the onion, turn the heat off. Add the garlic, stir and
let sit. The garlic does not burn this way.
A couple of minutes before you are ready to serve, turn the heat back on medium/high and add the
lemon juice and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
Stir in the capers and lemon zest, and season with salt and pepper.
Spoon the warm sauce over the fish and serve immediately.
