SALTED CARAMEL ALMOND COCONUT BARS - GLUTEN-FREE
This recipe was adapted from camillestyles.com. It’s gluten-free - made with almond flour and satisfies all those cravings. The only sugar is the condensed milk and chocolate on top. I hope you like them as much as I do.
SALTED CARAMEL ALMOND COCONUT BARS - GLUTEN-FREE
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 20 - 25 minutes
Keywords: bake dessert gluten-free almond flour
Ingredients (9 x 13)
- 1 ½ cups almond flour
- 1 ½ cups unsweetened coconut
- ¾ cups butter, melted
- ½ tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup whole raw almonds, roughly chopped (don’t be afraid to experiment with other nuts)
- 1 (14 ounce can) sweetened condensed milk, (Dulce de Leche for caramelized sweetened condensed milk or use the regular sweetened condensed milk if you don’t want the caramel)
- 1 ½ cups flaked coconut
- 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
- Finishing sea salt, to taste
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Line a 9x13 baking pan with foil or parchment paper and coat with cooking spray.
Mix almond flour, coconut, salt and cinnamon together.
Add melted butter and mix well.
Pour into bottom of prepared pan and press to make even. Make sure you pack it well.
Roughly chop almonds and layer on top of base.
Add coconut on top of almonds.
Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top slowly.
Add chocolate chips and finishing salt on top.
I tend to put quite a bit of salt on top. If you don’t like a lot of salt, just ease up on it.
Bake 20-25 minutes until lightly browned.
Once cool, refrigerate until cold. Cut into bite size pieces.
I keep them in the frig or freezer.
